  • "No School Day" Fun- Mid Iowa Gymnastics

    Open gym atmosphere where staff walks the kids through stretches and then discuss rules. Kids have free time to use the equipment in the gym such as air pit, bars, balance beam, spring floor, trampolines, etc. Waiver is required by each family prior to attending.A required waiver is available online and must be filled out.     This is a great introduction into the competitive world of obstacle course racing! Participants spend time warming up in gymnastics gym with games and races (including time on trampolines and in foam pits). From larger-than-life bounce houses, to huge slides, kids are allowed to roam free and get out some energy all while making new friends. Please make sure to wear socks.     Participants are placed on teams according to the registration questions and randomly. All games take place on Saturday mornings and/or early afternoons depending on the # of teams. Teams practice and play on Saturdays only at a Johnston Elementary School. Parent volunteer coaches are needed for each team. Two coaches are allowed per team. Lesson plans and rules are given to the coaches. Coaches meeting is- Date/Time To Be Determined. All players must have a reversible JYB jersey.   • Dance: KinderCombo Class for Ages 5-6

    KinderCombo is for dancers 5-6 years old and will introduce them to the standard structure of a ballet class through learning ballet terminology and basic center work. Dancers will also explore different ways their body can move through playful and imaginative activities and songs. Dancers can wear dance attire such as leotards and tights, but any clothes they can move around easily in is also acceptable. Socks or ballet shoes are recommended if possible.
