    "This is a youth basketball league for students living in or attending the Johnston School District. Participants will be placed on teams and play an 8 game season. All games will take place on Saturday mornings and early afternoons. Teams will have practice one night each week. Practices are limited to one hour and can start the week of November 5. Games will begin on December 1. Season will end February 2. No games will be held on December 22 or 29. Volunteer Coaches meeting will be October 24th at the CEC (6600 NW 62nd Ave) at 6pm.. Coaches will contact parents with practice/game schedules after Oct. 24th. All players will receive a t-shirt. Volunteer coaches are needed! *Those on the wait list will only be added if there is room on a team. Max on a team is 10.     This class is an early childhood program that will teach the basic fundamentals of Tae-Kwon-Do and Karate. This class will focus on building self-respect, self-confidence, coordination of mind and body and self-discipline. (Must be 4 or 5 yrs.) Students must sign up on or before the first class day of each session.
  • Tae Kwon Do

    This Korean art of self-defense is recognized as a beneficial method of improving health, balance, agility, and poise. Tae-Kwon-Do is also a philosophy of mental alertness and moral ethics that can serve to enhance anyone's life, young or old. This program is a year around so sessions may be taken on an individual basis or ongoing. Instructor, Phil Dickey, a fourth Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo, Fifth Degree Black Belt Karate, Renshi Instructor with Ryukyu Kempo Alliance, and a 3 time Martial Arts Hall of Fame Inductee. For ages 6 years and older. Students must sign up on or before the first class day of each session.
