  • Aqua Aerobics

    Improve muscle tone in your arms, stomach, hips, and legs during this water-based aerobic workout. Exercises can be performed at high or low impact. We'll also include flexibility and relaxation exercises. Instructor: Tammy Robinson COVID-Related Safety Practices: Participants are required to wear a face mask at all times, except for while in the water. Participants should arrive dressed in swim attire. Locker rooms will be available for restroom use only. Participants will be directed to socially distanced and marked spaces to drop their belongings. Participants should maintain social distance when entering/exiting the pool area, on the pool deck, and while participating in the class. No sharing equipment. All equipment is cleaned/disinfected between classes. Participants should bring a water bottle. Water fountains will ne be available. Special Note: It is LIKELY that some of our Aqua Aerobics classes in January and February will have to be cancelled due to the delay and rescheduling of the JHS boys swim team season. As soon as we are made aware of any schedule conflicts, we will notify participants and process a partial refund for your missed class.
  • Intro to Competitive Swim I

    Children will learn and refine swim technique once they have mastered the basics along with safety skills. Designed for youth ages 6 to 12, the Intro to Competitive swim program bridges the gap between learn-to-swim classes and swim team training. It is ideal for students who may consider competitive swimming, the Blaze Swim Team and even those who just enjoy the benefits of swimming. Swim test is required- freestyle and backstroke to the flags.
  • Intro to Competitive Swim II

    Children will learn and refine swim technique once they have mastered the basics along with safety skills. Designed for youth ages 6 to 12, the Intro to Competitive swim program bridges the gap between learn-to-swim classes and swim team training. It is ideal for students who may consider competitive swimming, the Blaze Swim Team and even those who just enjoy the benefits of swimming. Swim test is required- 15m of each stroke or successful completion of Intro to Comp I.
  • Lifeguard Review Course

    This option is for those training for those whose certifications are soon to expire. This course is a review course format (9 hours and 40 minutes in person). The pre-requisites for this course include being 15 years of age and having passed the pre-course swimming skills test, and having current lifeguard certification.
  • Water Safety Instructor- Blended Learning

    This course trains Water Safety Instructor candidates to teach courses and presentations in the American Red Cross Swimming and Water Safety program by developing their understanding of how to use the course materials, how to conduct training sessions and how to evaluate participants progress. The courses and presentations include Parent and Child Aquatics Levels 1 and 2, Preschool Aquatics Levels 1 - 3, Learn-to-Swim Levels 1 - 6, three adult courses as well as the Basic Water Rescue and Personal WaterSafety courses and more. To enroll, instructor candidates must be at least 16 years of age on or before the last day of the instructor course and successfully complete the precourse session which includes demonstration of swimming skill at Learn-to-Swim Level 4.
