Adult Lap Swim Club
Whether you were a collegiate swimmer, high school swimmer, triathlete, club swimmer, lap swimmer, or just love to swim, this program is for you. All participants should be able to swim any stroke/style comfortably in deep water and swim a minimum of 50 yards without stopping (2 lengths of the pool). This course will help to improve swimming technique and cardiovascular endurance through lap swimming. Coaches will offer workouts at each practice that are 3 different intensity levels so everyone will feel comfortable with the intensity of the workouts. Participants may choose to do the instructors workout or bring their own workout. A coach will be on deck as a resource for participants to ask questions and receive stroke technique feedback. Participants will most likely have to share lanes with others, so circle swimming will be required. Participants are not required to attend every workout session, but no refunds will be issued for missed sessions.
Swim Lessons Level 3
This course is for any swimmer who has passed level 2 and/or can swim front and back crawl proficiently a minimum of 5 body lengths, tread water 15 seconds or more, float on the back for 15 seconds or more, and can understand how to breathe to the side on front crawl. Swimmers will learn breaststroke kick, elementary backstroke, dolphin kick, and scissors kick. This course requires swimmers to be in water at least chest deep. Parents who are unsure if their child is ready for this level should contact the Aquatics Coordinator. Goggles are highly recommended for this course.
