This class is for prospective beekeepers. This 2-hour, one-time course will present an overview of a beekeeper's year regarding labor, costs, and seasonal considerations; city bee laws, activities that will support pollinators whether you are a beekeeper or not, as well as providing other informational resources for you to continue your learning. Basic beekeeping topics covered in the text book ($10 from me or on your own, First Lessons in Beekeeping by Delaplane) include: honey bee biology and ecology, bee hive siting and set-up and how to start, management for honey production, harvesting products of the hive/business, off-season management, and disorders/parasites/predators.
