2026-27 3-Year-Old Preschool

3-Year-Old Preschool is a highly engaging time of learning at Johnston Early Learning Academy. The program follows the “Creative Curriculum for Preschool” teaching early literacy concepts, Zaner Bloser writing, and Everyday Math. Kids enjoy learning through emotional, social, physical and cognitive growth opportunities. Online registration will remain open until September 1, 2026. After that time, parents should add your student to the waitlist AND contact JELA at 515-272-5352 or jpalmer@johnston.k12.ia.us to inquire about class availability and registration.

Logistics:

• Each class has a max of 16 students and two teachers.
• Children must be 3 by September 15, 2026 to enroll.
• Classes are offered on a first come, first served basis.
• Please provide a full-sized backpack, a water bottle, a change of clothes and undergarments/diapers for your child.
• A hard copy of the student's physical and immunization records are required for attendance.

TWO STEP REGISTRATION PROCESS

• REGISTRATION IS NOT FINAL UNTIL BOTH OF STEPS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED.
• STEP 1: Register for your class on Eleyo
• STEP 2: Register with JCSD via Infinite Campus as either a 'New' or 'Existing' family
• After BOTH registration steps have been completed, parents will receive a welcome letter from JELA in early summer.

Instructor: JELA staff is highly qualified holding Iowa Educator Licenses or extended certifications in early childhood education. We implement educational best practices founded in knowledge and research of how children learn and develop.
