Johnston Community Education

Course Description: 

• This course is a recertification course for American Red Cross Lifeguards who are nearing expiration or within 30 days of expiration. Students will complete an online course, pre-requisite swim test, and a written exam to obtain recertification. Students and/or parents MUST supply the instructor with a personal email address of the student that is affiliated with the Lifeguard certificate. Students must participate in the entire class and demonstrate all skills up to par with American Red Cross standards. Lifeguards must provide their current Lifeguard certificate to the instructor via email, to the instructor upon registration. This Lifeguard class includes deep water, so shallow water certifications only may not attend this class. 

Logistics: 

• Class is held at Summit Pool in Johnston. Enter the building through door #20. 
• Bring snacks, sack lunch, water bottle, two swim suits, two towels, water bottle, goggles, warm clothing, and an I.D.
