Players learn baseball material that fits their age range. Learn and improve throwing, hitting, pitching, catching, fielding, sliding, and team offense and defense. This camp is for all boys in grades 6-12 interested in being a part of the Johnston Cross Country program. Johnston Boy’s XC has a reputation for being one of the largest programs in the country, with a culture of excellence in the classroom and community. We have qualified for the State Meet 10 years in a row and have finished in the top-4 five times during that period. This camp will kick off summer training by learning the basic principles of running, lifting, speed work, and a healthy lifestyle. There will also be several team-building activities and competitions. We encourage Middle School athletes that are interested to also join this camp, as Johnston has a 7th/8th grade XC team. All participating athletes will be able to train with the team for the remainder of the summer if they so choose. Our high school athletes and coaches will serve as leaders for this camp. Camp is designed to emulate the competitiveness and pace of the high school soccer game involving daily themes of technical, possession, and finishing. Camp Director: Coach Jim Frizzell

The Johnston Boys tennis camp is designed for Grades 8-12 planning on playing high school tennis. Emphasis will be placed on singles and doubles match strategy and advanced stroke development. Deadline to register and receive a t-shirt is May 21st. Campers should bring a racket, water bottle and sun screen each day. Join coaches and athletes from the Boys' Dragon Track & Field team for an introduction to the fundamentals of this great sport! Emphasis will be placed on having fun and building individual skills & fitness. The final day of camp will consist of a non-competitive mini fun Track Meet in which everyone will receive a T-shirt for participation. Please note if inclement weather occurs and camp is cancelled for the night no make-up dates/times will be added because of staff and venue logistics. Remember to bring a personalized water bottle! Learn foundational dance technique with the Johnston Dance Team! A performance will be hosted at the end of the week showcasing a dance learned by campers. T-shirts are provided to each participant. Deadline is May 26. Camp Director: Coach Paige Meredith

Drama camp will focus on introducing students to the different elements of creating a play, including creating characters, movement, costumes and make-up. All activities will lead to a performance the last day of camp. This week-long camp is designed for all experience levels. Please enter through JHS Door #23 (Auditorium Entrance). Drama Camp will meet in the Auditorium. Bring water bottle and lunch (no microwave or refrigerator available). On the last day (Friday) - there will be four 20 minute performances, starting at 11:30am and hoping to wrap up by 1:00pm. All are invited to attend.

The Fit to Hit Football Camp will focus on skill development , position growth, conditioning and will also learn concepts used by the offense , defense and special teams. Registration by camp date is required in order to be given a t-shirt. Camp Director: Brian Woodley

Learn all about offensive and defensive positions and special teams play. We’ll emphasize the fundamentals of various positions so players can learn about the game of football and build confidence. Youth players will be taught the fundamentals of basketball that are stressed in the Johnston High School girls basketball program including offensive skills and defensive concepts. The camp will consist of individual skill work, competitions, games, and the opportunity to learn from the Johnston HS Softball Players and Coaches.
