Course Description The camp teaches and improves a player’s technical and tactical abilities, using individual and small group training. T-shirts will be provided by Grand View. 1:12 ratio with players/coaches on hand. Groups will be split by age/ability. Course Description: KinderFlute is all about FUN! This action-packed class offers an introduction to flute playing through games, activities, and focused group and one-on-one instruction. KinderFlute is a unique curriculum based in the science of “neurogenesis”—or the birth of neurons—which happens best when kids learn in an active and supportive environment. It’s like miracle grow for little brains! In these classes, students will have a chance to try the flute while learning beginning music theory concepts and listening and moving to great flute music! If you have considered music lessons (perhaps piano, violin, guitar, etc.) for your child, KinderFlute may be just what you are looking for! Intro classes are for students and a parent/guardian or other responsible adult (16yrs+). It is essential that a grown-up accompany students in these classes to observe and support at-home music making, and maybe even participate in the games and activities right along with us. Students will receive their very own Nuvo Toot to keep – this is a plastic beginner flute that students will use in class and take home to encourage beautiful flute-playing and music exploration beyond the class. A few additional items--including a PneumoPro Wind Director and real flute headjoint--will be loaned to each student at the first class, and returned at the last class (additional fee may apply for lost or damaged loaner items). Course Description Girls Flag Football is a sport that offers numerous benefits to young girls. It promotes physical fitness, builds self-confidence, fosters teamwork, develops leadership skills, offers college opportunities, and challenges gender stereotypes. This clinic demonstrates hand-offs, passing, receiving, blocking, and how to pull a flag properly. Fun games end each day. T shirts, shorts, and shoes are needed. Activities will include painting tiny, doll sized canvases, listening to music, making jewelry for our dolls, and enjoying new friends. Expect student to create, learn, and play during this fun camp! Course Description This is a great introduction into the competitive world of obstacle course racing! Participants spend time warming up in gymnastics gym with games and races (including time on trampolines and in foam pits). Participants move to the ninja gym and then work through an obstacle course! Course Description PE Olympics is a summer program that places individuals on a variety of teams while playing a wide array of games/activities. This will be for individuals entering 4th-7th grade. We will emphasize good sportsmanship, fun competition, and teamwork. Games/activities will help students with core strength, flexibility, agility, speed, power and endurance while improving athletic ability. Games included but not limited to: Tchoukball, Kickball, Soccer, and Capture the Ball. Please wear athletic shoes/shorts/shirt. Course Description Learn pickleball quick! The shots focused on will be dinks, volleys, serves, and returns. By the end of the week participants will be able to play a match, understand scoring, and where to stand on the court. Beginner- The players learn the basic strokes. The strokes include serve, return, forehand, backhand, dink, and volley. The players learn where to stand on the court and how to score. Intermediate - The players learn strategy, grips, and spins. The players practice implementing the new strokes and placement in live play. Course Description Sweet summer projects! A comfy pair of shorts, a water bottle bag, criss-cross headband and more. Students will make, showcase, and take home all projects. Hand and machine sewing techniques are taught with SAFETY FIRST always in mind. The final day is a showcase where friends and family are invited to see the projects in action. Course Description “Run Away With The Circus!” Taught by professional circus performers, students will learn juggling, hula-hooping, acrobatics, aerial arts, and other circus props - including one they will make for themselves and take home! Students will also have the opportunity to share the skills they've learned with family and friends at the end of the week. Course Description This is a two-day long summer program for children entering Kindergarten and First Grade. Incoming students learn about home, playground, personal safety and kindness. Participants also learn traffic safety and fire safety in a fun, engaging environment. Kids will practice what they learned by taking a bus to the fire station on the second day. T-shirts are given out the first day and certificates are handed out at the completion of the program.
