  • Private Voice Lessons with Kameron De Moss

    Course Description Participants will receive personalized instruction towards continued growth in their singing voice over an 8 week period. Students will work on building confidence, using proper singing technique, sight singing skills and/or audition material for honor choirs for the upcoming school year. Each lesson is 30 minutes in length. 1 student per timeslot. No make-up lessons. Exception: If the instructor cancels a lesson for some reason - that lesson will be rescheduled. Lessons that a participant fails to show up for will not be rescheduled. If participant has a schedule conflict AND notifies the instructor prior to the date that will be missed, the make-up lesson may be scheduled. Logistics NA Instructor: Kameron De Moss Mr. De Moss is one of the vocal music teachers at Johnston Middle School where he directs Freshman Choir, Sound Advice Show Choir and co-directs the 8th grade bass clef choir. He is a former Johnston graduate and also graduated from Drake University with a degree in Vocal Music Education.

    Course Description {YEL!} Project Runway Sweet summer projects! A comfy shorts, a water bottle bag, criss-cross headband and more. No experience necessary. Students will make, showcase, and take home all their projects. Hand and machine sewing techniques are taught with SAFETY FIRST always in mind.   • Run Away with the Circus

    Course Description “Run Away With The Circus!” Taught by professional circus performers, students will learn juggling, hula-hooping, acrobatics, aerial arts, and other circus props - including one they will make for themselves and take home! Students will also have the opportunity to share the skills they've learned with family and friends at the end of the week. Parent performance: Thursay, July 2 at 3:30pm.     DEADLINE IS JUNE 8 AT 12PM TO BE GUARANTEED A T-SHIRT Course Description This is a two-day long summer program for children entering Kindergarten and First Grade. Incoming students learn about home, playground, personal safety and kindness. Participants also learn traffic safety and fire safety in a fun, engaging environment. Kids will practice what they learned by taking a bus to the fire station on the second day. T-shirts are given out the first day and certificates are handed out at the completion of the program. Logistics Please bring a bike helmet for your child to the session if they have one. Park on west side of building and enter through Door #9. Staff will be on hand to direct you to the gym.     Course Description Welcome to School of Wizardry, where science meets sorcery! Inspired by the world of Harry Potter, campers will embark on a journey through the wonders of STEM. Campers will brew potions, design wands, construct castles, dissect owl pellets, decode puzzles, and much more. Students will sort into houses and unlock their inner wizards to discover the science behind magic. *All new activities this year! Apply study strategies for various subjects. Tackle different types of tests and item types.
