Introduction to Competitive Swimming is a course designed to prepare swimmers interested in becoming a member of the swim team. This course will teach the fundamentals of swim team; diving, freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, flip turns, open turns, and rules of swimming. Upon completion of this course, instructors will recommend advancing on to the Blaze Swim Team or retaking Introduction to Competitive Swimming to continue building their skills. All participants should be deep water swimmers, and should have passed a deep-water swim test prior to registering for this course. Parents can contact Olivia Stephenson, Aquatics Coordinator with questions at email@example.com, in regards to this policy and/or to set up a time to take this test if needed.
