Healthy & Homemade Cooking Classes: Cook Now, Enjoy Later

Not a gourmet chef? That’s okay.If you’d just like to prepare healthy, delicious meals that are low-cost, fast and easy, these “Healthy and Homemade” classes are for you! Instructor Mary Krisco, ISU Extension Specialist and registered dietitianwill guide you through ways to improve upon your meal preparations. In class, participants will make bean and cheese tortilla roll-ups, which can be easily frozen, and then microwaved later for dinners or snacks. The class includes a power point and interactive discussion on how to organize for a fast multi-meal-making session and how to choose ingredients for make-ahead meals. Participants receive a 20-page booklet of 18 main dish recipes that they can make in a single day and freeze for later meals, for less than $2 a serving.
